Domain Name Brokers

Domain name brokers can help you find a buyer for your domain name… or maybe not! Your success rate will depend on many factors, including the desirability of the name and the number of potential buyers the broker can expose your name to. Here are a selection of interesting broker resources. Each resource has been rated from 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest) and resources are ranked by rating within each section.

BuyDomains 4
Review: BuyDomains is currently the biggest domain broker with over 325,000 domain names for sale at relatively approachable prices, from $288 upwards. They have some really stellar names in their portfolio and their reasonable pricing and user friendly search tools means that this is one of the best places to start hunting for a name for your web site.Highly Recommended.

ImpressiveDomains 4
Review: ImpressiveDomains is a new domain broker offering a marketplace to buy and sell premium domain names. As their company name indicates, they have an inventory of top quality domain names in several domain extensions. They charge nothing to post a domain name, and 10% for completed sales.

WebSiteNames 4
Review: WebSiteNames offers to sell your domain names for a 20% commission. The site has a very commendable policy of only listing “.com” names, and of carefully selecting which names it will accept for listing. This means that the quality of the average name on this site is much higher than on some of the larger broker sites. The domain names are categorized by keyword, but there is no search engine, making it needlessly hard to find the specific name you are looking for. There are no prices listed on the site, so you will need to enquire if you see a name that interests you.

WebSiteBroker 4
Review: WebSiteBroker specialises in listing complete sites for sale, although it also accepts domain-only listings. Listings can be displayed by price, daily traffic and many other criteria. The site also offers a guide to valuing websites and a resources section with links to many useful resources relating to domain names.

Creabiz.com 3
Review: Creabiz has around 150 complete web sites for sale. Perfect for anyone who doesn’t have the time or inclination to create their own web site, or even for those looking to buy out their competitors. The domain name and active web sites are sold as sets, but it’s not clear how much the listing service costs.
